Tamworth Equine Centre

About TEVC

Tamworth Equine Veterinary Centre provides surgical, medical & reproductive services to the horse population of the Tamworth district and to the north and north-west region of New South Wales. We are, however, much more than a veterinary hospital and referral centre for northern New South Wales. We are a performance horse stallion station. We are also a Select Breeders Services affiliate laboratory, one of only two in Australasia, specializing in the freezing and distribution of stallion semen.

The practice offers a full medical, diagnostic and surgical service to horse owners and trainers. With an operating theatre and full hospital facilities the centre offers comprehensive services including surgery, radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and intensive care. We also provide a full ambulatory service to the district and visiting racetrack and stud services.

The 30 acre complex is located within 2 kms of the central business district of Tamworth, the regional centre for the northern part of New South Wales, Australia. The Centre is located on lush alluvial country with full irrigation and is bordered by properties specializing in the provision of spelling (resting) of horses at pasture. The complex has a central barn housing a state-of-the-art reproductive laboratory, operating theatre, radiography suite, hospital stalls and general medical infrastructure. Attached is the administration complex.

Adjacent to the main barn is an undercover serving arena and crush complex. There are undercover day yards and the blalnce of the complex is divided into yards and paddocks, all interconnected with broad laneways. The stallion yards are designed to allow for quarantine of stallions for export semen collection. The stallion yards have individual boxes.
